The basic series are friction DF torque limiters. These can be used both for parallel connection of shafts (by chain, belt, toothed wheel…) and for coaxial connection of shafts in combination with any commonly used clutch (flexible, chain…).
These limiters are further manufactured in various model designs suitable for the application - with extended hub (using a drive element with relatively large axial dimensions - three-row chain wheel), with extended shaft (for easier mounting directly to the gearbox), with electromechanical switch ( the signal from these switches gives an impulse to stop the machine). These limiters are suitable for machines where dust, dirt, etc. are present and where synchronization between the drive and driven parts of the machine is not required.
The intermediate stage between the friction and roller limiters is the economic ball EDF/F limiters. These limiters are maintenance-free, eliminate torsional clearance, and an electromechanical switch can be installed on them.
Another series are the already mentioned rolling DSS / DSR torque limiters and we divide them according to the design into ball or roller. Ball limitors are highly sensitive even for short-term peaks. Roller limiters provide stable transmission even at high torques and vibrations. Roller limitors can be used as timing, ie after reconnection of both machine parts, the position of the drive and driven shafts is synchronous, or cycle renewal at 45 °, 60 °, 90 ° ... can be adjusted as required by the application. These limiters are suitable for greasy or damp environments and are again produced in a variety of model designs for both parallel and coaxial shaft connections.
More precise from the limiters that meet the features of the previous series are the DSS/SG backlash free torque limiters. These relatively new products meet additional requirements, and these are size reduction and angular clearance. Of course there are also models for coaxial connection, recently in combination with bellows coupling. They are available in 5 sizes with a nominal torque range of 5 - 700 Nm.
Pneumatic …/AP torque limiters are controlled by external pressure, and this also is their main advantage: changing the torque setting while the machine is running.
Products that partially differ from other ComIntec products are DSA axial force limiters. These devices protect the linear feed components against possible collisions when the set traction/compressive force is exceeded. The great advantage of the ComInTec limiters is easy adjustment of the slip torque. After suitable selection of the disc springs, the torque is adjusted only by tightening the radial nut. The amount of tightening of the nut corresponds to the required torque value (distance of the nut face to flange). This setting is called Calibration System with “H” Dimension. This dimension is given for each type of limiter, ie no torque wrench is required for adjustment, but only a caliper.
For long life and perfect operation it is suitable to use electromechanical switch for all types of limiters. alternatively induction sensor that switches off the drive or otherwise alerts the operator when a limiter is hit.
